ABOUT GALLERY 152
Located in a beautifully restored heritage building, Gallery 152 is a new commercial gallery working to restore York’s reputation as a hub for artists, festivals and other cultural events.
York is Western Australia’s first inland town which is characterised by its many heritage buildings, some of which have been retained for 160 years.
GALLERY 152 is open daily 10am-3pm
Under the curatorial guidance of Leonie Oakes, Gallery 152 will present exhibitions featuring the work of Australian contemporary artists. In 2017 these will include: Stewart Scambler, Tim Burns, John Feeney, Trish Scambler, Susie Marwick, Sujora Conrad, Philomena Coppola, Kati Thamo, Hobo Furniture, Mandy Renard and more.
The gallery space is available for hire for artists wanting to host their own exhibitions. The gallery measures 6m x 8.4m, offering a 4m high hanging space. Fee’s start from $250 + gst/week for a maximum of four weeks, including public liability insurance. Hirers will need to provide their own artwork insurance protection. Creative Space for workshops
Taught by a line-up of talented artists and mentors, our workshops are aimed at encouraging engagement with the arts. Running year round, students can choose from printmaking, raku fired ceramics, indigo & shibori dyeing, jewellery techniques, photography as well as professional development workshops for self-employed arts practitioners. Enjoy over one day or as residential programs over several days.
