David Gregson revisits York
12/08/2017 , Jenny Garroun
Gallery 152 is pleased to be presenting this exhibition of work by the late David Gregson. Based on a series of works produced during regular field trips to York in 1987, Aspects of York Revisited will feature York streetscapes, landscapes and its cultural life, including horse races and contestants in the infamous Flying 50s vintage car race, once one of York’s major events, painted in gouache en plein air.
One of Western Australia’s most highly regarded figurative painters, David’s career spanned over 50 years. His dedication to opening our eyes to the communicative power of art, and his virtuosic talent with a paintbrush, strongly informed his art and continues to influence many aspiring and established artists.
The exhibition will open during The York Festival on 7th October through to 19th November.
